Having worked with ECPAT, Habitat for Humanity, and Foresight Australia, Julia made a commitment to sharing women’s stories.

After building her reputation in Hong Kong as The Woman Photographer for Women, Julia went on to write her blog 20Women of 2020, followed by her personal cancer story Juleshascancer.

“After working with my own women’s communities, networks and charities, I realized I knew all of these incredible, unique women, and they all had these intrinsically female /feminine paths through life. I want I wanted to know their story as a whole being, not just the one-dimensional “Mother, Career-Woman, Daughter“ headlines endemic to the last century - to showcase these stories to truly resonate with the feminine experience.

Wymyn’s Wyrk is an intentional play on the archaic and sexist trope of Women’s Work - a role intended to minimise the experience of women and subjugate the gender; it takes this concept and flips it to the non-patriarchal spelling of “Women“, redefining the contributions, stories & successes of women.

This a hive of stories, connections, herstories and triumphs.

Julia works with female clients holistically including personal branding, styling & storytelling to create a suite of images to be used across all media.

For stories that need to be told, no matter what, Julia takes on a small number of pro bono clients annually. For nominations, applications, or further information, you may contact Julia here:
